Bad mom
Actually, it is because I'm such an awesome mom that I'm reveling in being such a bad mom at the moment.

Hubby took the Spawn up the Great White North for an overnight leaving me SPAWN FREE!

There was much rejoicing.. and D&D Online.

I just picked up a coloring book you will enjoy - something to laugh at and not give to the child for another year or so. But I need an address to ship it to, if I may trouble you for it.

shockwave77598(at)yahoo.com if you wish to use that instead.

Needing some time away from your offspring doesn't make you a bad parent. It makes you human. Getting a break gives you a chance to unwind, to clear your mind, to remind yourself that you are more than the bound servant of a little tyrant. Then, when you almost get to the point that you miss the little cuss, he comes back, and you're ready to deal with him again.

I know that's how it has been for me with Emma. And I have to admit, it takes longer every time to reach the 'missing her' stage. Oh, I still get there, feeling the need to see my little girl again...but it takes many hours, rather than just one hour or so. In fact, she's been gone overnight without my feeling too awfully upset. When you're a parent, sleeping in is an almost unknown treat.

Hope Spawn packed his parka, eh? Like the temperature drops like 50° as soon as you cross the border... it's like how they figured out where to draw the line, eh? So, a parka and back-bacon and a 2-4 of Moosehead and he's all set, eh? Beauty.

Weeeell, they weren't quite that far North. They were just north of Berlin, NH, which is about 25 miles away from Canada. So I guess just a stone's throw, eh?

And safe from those deep snow drifts and marauding polar bears. ^_^
